2017 Barossa Cavalier 105 Old Vine Barossa Valley Shiraz

Winemaker Dan Standish has the Barossa Valley running through his veins. A 6th Generation native Dan created his eponymous label in 1999 whilst still working at Torbreck. Today his wines are some of the most highly regarded in the world with unanimous critical acclaim both here in Australia as well as the US. With some seriously old vines at his disposal, Dan crafts profoundly powerful wines that nevertheless are imbued with remarkable nuances and finesse. These are long-lived wines and totally captivating to smell and ponder. This Barossa Valley Shiraz grapes was picked from the vineyard planted at 1912, dry grown shows concentrated ripe blueberry, blackberry, black cherry flavours, has been aged in the new French oak barrels over 24 months, displaying complex vanilla, cedar and cigar box nose, very soft and smooth taninn, full body with a very long finish. Perfectly to drink now, will benefit for another 20 years cellaring.
